Church Wardens training

This training package informs church wardens about how they might come across modern slavery through their role and how to respond.

Church wardens work with individuals from all walks of life and in a wide range of sectors.

About our Church Wardens' Training

We have worked together with the Diocese of Southwark to produce a training package informing church wardens about how they might come across modern slavery. Church wardens come into contact with a wide variety of people from different sectors within their role, some of whom could be victims of modern slavery and it is important that they are aware of the signs of exploitation and how to respond. This short package consists of a training presentation and script and a leaflet to be distributed to church wardens within your parish or diocese. The presentation could be incorporated into wider church warden training session or used at a specific session on modern slavery.

What is in the training:

  • Spotting the signs of modern slavery.
  • Information on how church wardens might come into contact with victims.
  • Case studies.
  • Safeguarding information.
  • How to respond if you suspect modern slavery.
