On Thursday 18th January, The Clewer Initiative and World Council of Churches hosted an important seminar to help inspire churches and communities to use True Freedom in 2024.
Bishop Alastair Redfern, chair of The Clewer Initiative and Rev. Dr Kenneth Mtata, director of Public Witness and Diakonia at World Council of Churches, led the short lunchtime webinar, showcasing the six-week Lent resource, True Freedom.
During the 60 minute webinar, they discussed the vision behind the resource, the different elements in each week and some of the central themes.
There was an opportunity to see the material, which is now also available in French, German, Spanish and Dutch, and ask any questions. The team shared lots of practical tips and advice about running a Lent course and the different ways to make the most of the material.
Bishop Alastair Redfern, chair of The Clewer Initiative and one of the writers of the course, comments: “True Freedom has huge potential to inspire churches around the world to wake up and consider how they can practically tackle modern slavery in their communities.”
